Debu (Rahul Bose) is 32 year old who works for an advertising agency. But he has a serious problem. He is still a virgin.

He sees light at the end of this tunnel when he encounters Baba Hindustani.

He reassures him by promising to cure his sexual problem.

Keen to overcome this problem, Debu meets Baba who is staying in a hotel.

Upon his arrival, he meets Nitin Kapoor, a film-maker (Saurabh Shukla).

Unaware of what lies ahead, Debu agrees being filmed by Kapoor. So the shooting begins as Debu carries out a physical workout.

But in actual fact, Kapoor edits the same visuals in such a way to give the impression of Debu performing a sexual act.

He releases his film which turns out to be a box office hit and Debu becomes a sex symbol.

Debu is of course oblivious to all these developments.

Soon his life takes a turn when Sonali Verma (Perizaad Zorabian), a journalist, enters Debu's life.

She helps him out of a sticky situation and gives him shelter in her own home when Debu’s landlord throws him out.

With time, he becomes close to Sonali and both fall in love.

Debu awakens to the fact that there is more to a relationship than just the physical side.

Mumbai Matinee is different in that it has a unique storyline which other Bollywood directors have never attempted before.

The film has some humorous scenes which will have you smiling. Sequence involving the Baba is captivating.

But the film slows down in the second half as too much attention is paid to the love angle between Debu and the journalist.

Rahul Bose is completely at ease in his role whilst Perizaad Zorabian support well.

On the whole, Mumbai Matinee is a film which will appeal to the younger generation of the Asian community due to its sexual undertone.

The use of the English language to a larger extent will further restrict its box office takings.
