(Rahul Bose) is 32 year old who works for an advertising agency.
he has a serious problem. He is still a virgin.
sees light at the end of this tunnel when he encounters Baba Hindustani.
reassures him by promising to cure his sexual problem.
to overcome this problem, Debu meets Baba who is staying in a hotel.
his arrival, he meets Nitin Kapoor, a film-maker (Saurabh Shukla).

begins as Debu carries out a physical workout.
in actual fact, Kapoor edits the same visuals in such a way to give
the impression of Debu performing a sexual act.
releases his film which turns out to be a box office hit and Debu
becomes a sex symbol.
is of course oblivious to all these developments.
his life takes a turn when Sonali Verma (Perizaad Zorabian), a journalist,
enters Debu's life.
helps him out of a sticky situation and gives him shelter in her
own home when Debu’s landlord throws him out.
time, he becomes close to Sonali and both fall in love.
awakens to the fact that there is more to a relationship than just
the physical side.
Matinee is different in that it has a unique storyline which
other Bollywood directors have never attempted before.
film has some humorous scenes which will have you smiling. Sequence
involving the Baba is captivating.
the film slows down in the second half as too much attention is
paid to the love angle between Debu and the journalist.
Bose is completely at ease in his role whilst Perizaad Zorabian
the whole, Mumbai Matinee is a film which will appeal to
the younger generation of the Asian community due to its sexual
use of the English language to a larger extent will further restrict
its box office takings.
