Towards Slyne Head

The wind's quite perky, the waves are looking high and there's a large swell.

Simon's on Slyne Head looking out at what lies before him over the next few days. He's got to pick his way carefully through a few islands.

I had high hopes when I heard the forecast, but when I passed a fisherman he made it clear that the wind was stronger than forecasted.

I made my way to Slyne Head to discover a large swell. After checking the data from the offshore buoy, the wave was measuring 9.3 feet. This swell combined with the wind, 2kn tide and reefs led me to make a hard decision.

I turned back to the shelter of a small beach I had past a few miles back. I could have gone on and I am sure everything would have been fine but it did not feel the day. Maybe tomorrow!.
