Asian
communities across the world are known for their rich cultural
heritage and so music and dance form a large part of their
celebrations.
One
of these includes the Indian classical dance forms which have
been inspired by ‘Bhakti’ (devotion) and religion.
Initially these dances were usually performed in temples where
the themes depicted stories from religious epics and other
mythological literature.
But
as time went by, these traditions were passed on which saw
variations of many dance forms.
This
is because they depended largely on the regional customs and
its requirements.
Amongst
the many forms of classical dance popular within the Asian community
all over the world, is the Bharatanatyam. |
