A scene from the movie, Agyaat
Ram Gopal reveals all about Agyaat
'It's not a horror film technically, it's a unique thriller,' says Ram Gopal Verma about his forthcoming movie.
Ram Gopal Varma's Agyaat is ready for release. Watching the promos, the film looks like a horror film but Varma says:
The thriller revolves around a film unit that goes for a shoot in the forest and loose their way in the process. The suspense increases when an unknown entity is out to kill them one by one.
According to Varma, the film unit is like a walking office where there is a hierarchical difference right from the star to the spot boy. In the face of death all those differences get erased as they all become more caring as they fight to save their lives.
Varma also says: 'For the subject matter of Agyaat, I had no intention of showing the entity that is creating the terror. It is imperative that the jungle substitutes for the entity that is killing them.'
He adds, 'I have created fear and terror just by camera movements, background score and sound effects.'
'What makes Agyaat unique is that you don't really see what’s killing them and that's also the reason why I have named my film Agyaat, it's an unknown element. There is no form to it.'
From Verma’s comments it seems Agyaat may very well have shades of the Hollywood flick, The Blair Witch Project. We'll find out whether thats the case when the film releases.
