Viraj Pradhan is a young lad with unlimited passion for cricket. He dreams of playing for the Indian team one day.
But it seems like his dream will always remain a dream. That’s because he is sentenced to a maximum security prison for reckless behaviour.
Whilst in prison, he discovers the dangerous inmates are as passionate about the game as him. And so, his popularity increases amongst the inmates thanks to his talent.
With his new group of friends, a tyrannical warden and his never ending lust for the game, Viraj renews his search for a way to achieve his dream of playing cricket for India.
Hook Ya Crook is a comedy directed by David Dhawan who earlier made the box office hit, Partner. The story is written by Rensil D'Silva of the Rang De Basanti fame.
Hook Ya Crook sees Dostana star, John Abraham and Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na actress Genelia De Souza in leading roles.
To add authenticity to his character, John trained under the watchful eye of cricketer Rohit Sharma's coach Dinesh Lad.
In the movie, John's character Viraj, shares a cell with a conman (Shreyas Talpade) who supplies the inmates with whatever they desire to make their life in jail comfortable.
Ashutosh Rana is seen playing a strict warden while Yashpal Sharma and Murli Sharma play his associates.
Hook Ya Crook has been shot in one of the studios based in Hyderabad where a huge state-of-the-art jail was erected as a set surrounded by cricket grounds.
The film which also stars Kay Kay Menon of the Drona fame is expected to release later on in the year.
