The Friday Night Gerbil

Friday Night Gerbil

The best local music along with a large helping of fun and madness on the Friday Night Gerbil, 7-9pm every Friday with Adam and Josh.

Adam Green and Josh Withey present the best local music on the Friday Night Gerbil, 7-9pm on BBC Radio Shropshire. Featuring live sessions from some of the county's top talent, we'll also be encouraging you to get out to see more live music.

You may not know the bands, but we guarantee you'll hear something new that you'll love!

If you're in a band, we want to hear and play your music. Send us your CDs to:

Friday Night Gerbil
PO Box 96
Shropshire
SY1 3WW

Alternatively e-mail us your MP3s with a bit more information about you and your music, as well as contact details.

The paperwork! You'll have to fill out the following form, which gives us permission to use your material on the BBC...

Why Friday Night Gerbil? "Because it's hairy and slightly overweight... just like its presenter" that's according to Adam Green, who will present the show alongside Josh Withey. Random name, random music - a deep vein of fun runs right through the show and we think you'll love it.

Something for the weekend

If you enjoy going out to local gigs Adam and Josh also want to hear from you. E-mail us with your suggestions of which bands to feature, which events to cover and let us give you a mention, whether you're staying in or heading out for the evening.

Listen to the show 7-9pm on Fridays on 96FM across the county, DAB in east Shropshire, and online. You can also tune in on 95FM in the south of the county, 90FM in Church Stretton and 104.1FM in Clun. The latest show will be on-demand on the BBC iPlayer.

Listen to some great new music and find out why it's called the Friday Night Gerbil... maybe.
