I met Sash, just before Christmas she had been left tied up on a lamp post outside Gonsal Farm's RSPCA Centre. There was a note tied around her neck and no staff were informed. The note said she was very good with kids and had a great temperament, but the previous owner could no longer cope with Sash and her own children. It is a criminal offence to leave an animal where they could suffer. BBC Local TV were contacted regarding the story and I went down to the centre to film her. As soon as I met her she jumped all over me.
I don't know what it was but something hit me, I found myself constantly talking about her. Even when going home for Christmas I talked and talked about her.

On my return to Shropshire after the Christmas break I was sent to cover another animal story at the RSPCA Gonsal Farm centre. What was my first question when entering the centre - "Is Sash still here?" I was amazed that she was. I went to see her again and took her for walks. It was at this stage that I decided to 'adopt' her. I filled in the application and anxiously awaited the home visit. All went well and another week or so went by to let her rest after being spayed. Every time I see her I get all excited. Now's the time to give her a good welcoming home with lots of exciting walks! Jono |
