Now, thanks to Vivienne, six young women will have their dream of a white wedding come true.

Some dedicated research by Action Desk volunteer, Sarah Shires uncovered a project called ‘A Dress for Cinderella’. Nottinghamshire Police Aid Convoys (NAPC) had been taking humanitarian aid over to Eastern Europe for about 12 years when the idea for this magical project came up. The convoy were asked to take wedding dresses over to Moscow. The dresses can be loaned to girls from Russian orphanages to give them a chance of a fairytale wedding.

But the girls’ dreams come true in more ways than one. Chairman of NAPC David Scott said ‘Working with these wedding dresses will inspire them and give them a dream which many are denied. When orphan girls reach 17 years old they usually have to leave the orphanages and they often become Mafia fodder. Although they are promised work as cleaners or house keepers they are often sold into the sex slave industry.’ The project has been so successful dress agencies are blossoming all over the country and there is a long queue to join the workshops ands salons that deal with the loaning and altering the dresses. Action Desk Producer, Genevieve Tudor took the six dresses to Nottingham to give them to David Scott. They’ll be taken over to Moscow and they will make six beautiful brides – and Vivienne Bryan – very happy, indeed.
