ROB is in his early 30s and works as a garage mechanic. He is quiet and reserved, but also intelligent, honest and a good friend. Rob has no contact with his own family, who rejected him when they learnt he was gay. His first serious gay relationship, with Simon, ended some time ago, and Rob is somewhat isolated and lonely. He is currently a lodger with Sue and Michael and is having to reassess his plans and hopes for the future.

RAMON WOOLFE was born in 1974 and has built up an impressive list of credits as a producer, director, reporter, editor and actor. After studying Electronic Media at Wolverhampton University, Ramon set up the media company Remark! His acting credits include the feature film The Beach, and Rob in Switch. Ramon has also featured in a number of TV commercials. He directed the short film Reservoir Wolves, which was shown with great success at several Deaf film festivals. Since the first series of Switch ended, Ramon has directed for VeeTV (Maverick TV for Channel 4), visited various film festivals - including one in Denmark where he gave a presentation in Dansk Tegnsprogen (Danish Sign Language)! - and continued to work on developing various media projects. Ramon had a cameo role in the Channel 4 comedy/drama Green Wing, and was recently seen in ITV Comedy Cuts with Australian funny man, Jim Jeffries. Ramon can also be seen leading a group of signers performing in the video for Count in Fives, the new single from acclaimed band, The Horrors.

Motivated; energetic; humorous; flexible; mischievous.
2 When was your first kiss?
Behind the shed with a girl I met at judo class. I quit the class soon after!
3 What is the best thing about the Deaf community?
The culture we share is fantastic.
4 What's the first thing you would do if you became President of the World?
I'd introduce compulsory lessons, funded by government, to teach everyone sign language. It would be beautiful for everyone to be able to sign to each other.
5 Who do you most admire - and why?
I've always admired the poet Dot Miles, and also Ben Steiner, as they have both really inspired me.
6 One thing that really gets on your nerves?
The same old questions asked by hearing people who have no Deaf awareness really get to me!
7 Who's your ideal man/woman?
Brad Pitt and Cameron Diaz ... oh, those white teeth!
8 What one item would you take to a desert island?
A mobile phone, so I could ring someone to come and rescue me
9 If you could change one thing about yourself, what would it be?
I would like to have extra lean pectorals!
10 Are you anything like the character you play in Switch?
I'm the complete opposite of Rob as he's timid and quiet, while I'm more extrovert.
