| Scottish Poetry Library |

| The Scottish Poetry Library is the place for poetry in Scotland for the regular reader, the serious student or the casual browser. Since its foundation in 1984 it has amassed a remarkable collection of written works, as well as tapes and videos. The emphasis is on 20th century poetry written in Scotland, in Scots, Gaelic and English. Older Scottish poetry is also to be found, as are contemporary works from almost every part of the world. The Library is a registered charity, and all these resources are readily accessible, plus advice and information, free of charge. |

| The Ploughman: a poem for Scotland |

| The Ploughman poem is now on public display within The Scottish Parliament Visitors Centre in Edinburgh and was chosen as the winner of A Poem for Scotland, an open International Competition to find a poem which would mark the last St Andrew’s Day before the new millennium and the inauguration of The Scottish Parliament in Edinburgh. |
