The Royal Commission for Ancient and Historical Monuments is a government body based in Edinburgh whose aim is 'to survey and record the manmade environment of Scotland'. The results are compiled in The National Monument Record of Scotland (NMRS). This extensive resource can be accessed online through this site using CANMORE, a database allowing you to peruse the records of archaeological sites and listed buildings throughout Scotland.

If you wanted to know where to go to learn about 'The Scottish Witch-Hunt in Context', then this is the site for you. The University of Edinburgh hosts a variety of Scottish history courses, and a Scottish History Society, details of which can also be found on the site.

Glasgow Museums The Peoples Palace
The City of Glasgow owns one of the richest collections in Europe, displayed in 13 museums across the city. From Sir Roger the elephant to Rembrandt's A Man in Armour, and 1950s trams to medieval tapestries, there's something for everyone. Admission is free, there really is something in Glasgow Museums for everyone, and children are particularly welcome.
