Edinburgh may have recently been voted the best city in the UK by readers of one of the world’s most prestigious travel magazines, but as today's Scotsman reports, it is now the proud owner of a less salubrious title - the "most crap" town in Scotland!
A worldwide poll, pulled together for the tongue-in-cheek guide Crap Towns 2 - The Nation Decides, has put Edinburgh in joint fourth place with rival Glasgow also in the top 50 crappiest towns in Britain.
It is described as having cold buildings and cold people, while one person claimed it had "the UK’s most psychotic public transport employees".
The Edinburgh/Glasgow debate raises it's ugly head about twice a year over at the Talk Scotland message board and can be a very messy business indeed.
