Every so often, people ask me "what is all this weblogging stuff about?"
It's difficult to explain what a weblog is, but the simple answer is that a weblog is a log of the web, or a log on the web - sort of like a diary, but often much more.
The next question is usually "what do blogs do?".
Well, that's also difficult to explain, because blogs can be about almost anything, and are usually personal to the person - or group of people - writing them.
For example, Bagger is a weblog about hillwalking in Scotland.
Phonology is by Donna Swabey, a speech therapist, linguist, singer, musician, writer and wannabeladygeek living in Glasgow, Scotland.
Finally fame for Bagger! I have him in my regular reads for a while now, an excellent blog.
I linked it in my blog a while ago, let's get him a few more readers to make sure he continues blogging ;-)

A good place to find many blogs, categorised by type or location (or searchable by content!) is at www.lsblogs.com, a search engine dedicated to blogs, and blog related sites only.
You can add your own blog there if you decide to write one.
It also has sections for finding blog providers, and blog tools, as well as a large selection of user submitted personal blogs.
