Malcolm worries about Liz as she waits patiently, hoping the postman will deliver a birthday card from Archie. When nothing arrives, Liz arranges to have flowers delivered to herself in Archie's name. Elsewhere Eileen is hard on the campaign trail, trying to turn round the impact of her disastrous interview.

Marianne has problems coping with the amount of work at the surgery, but doesn't want any help. A mystery illness is afflicting several Shieldinch residents- could the Deli be to blame? Elsewhere, Scarlett's embarrassed by Jimmy's new job but tries to hide it.

Amber's got her heart set on Innes, but things don't go to plan. Eileen's disappointed when Alex Judd tells her that the place she'd set her heart on for the community centre has been bought by a property company but furious when she finds out that Alex is lying to her. Meanwhile, Ruth realises that her attacker may be the same man responsible for other assaults in the area.

Art student Innes Maitland arrives in Shieldinch, and talks his flatmate Charlie into throwing a ‘big hair’ themed flat warming party. At the party, Amber Murdoch does her best to impress Innes, and is less than happy when Charlie’s younger sister Jennifer drunkenly spills a drink all over her dress.Meanwhile, Nicki decides to call Della to let her know how much financial trouble her mother, Shirley, is in. Although Shirley is initially angry with Nicki, she soon forgives her and looks forward to seeing her daughter.
And, having been turned down for yet another job, Jimmy decides to make a drastic change to his appearance when he sets off for an interview.

Spoiler: Tuesday, 2 June
Iona's devastated to discover that Shona kept her condition a secret and rages at Roisin and Raymond about it. She nearly misses the funeral but Deek helps bring the family back together. Iona agrees to leave Shieldinch for a while to stay with Roisin. Elswhere, Ruth is horrified after being groped in the busy subway. Everyone makes light of it but when Ruth hears about repeated sex attacks in the area, she calls the police.

Spoiler: Tuesday, 26 May
Raymond and Shona’s wedding day arrives and they're upset to hear Roisin won't make it in time. Shona is feeling extremely emotional and dizzy, while Raymond is determined to buy the Tall Ship. All seems to be going well until Lenny pulls out of the deal at the last minute! Raymond is gutted and Lydia is furious with her husband.
Eileen meets with Father Mulvaney and Councillor Judd to discuss how to spend community money but Eileen's furious when she discovers that Mulvaney and Daniel are in cahoots!
Back in Shieldinch, as the happy couple prepare to leave for their wedding, Shona collapses and shocks her friends and family! When they lose their place at the registry office, Father Mulvaney comes to the rescue.

Summer Spoilers
Roisin returns in an attempt to make to sister Shona's wedding but her flight's delayed so she arrives late. Raymond and Eileen's son, Brian, is released from his halfway house to visit Shieldinch for a day. Della flies in from Spain to help mum Shirley deal with her financial problems.
Scott's dad, Rev John Wallace, returns in July. The last time he visited we learned that Scott's sexuality is a real problem for him. There are very emotional scenes to come.
Shirley finds herself in terrible financial difficulty and daughter Della helps convince her to sell Moda Vida to Gordon Swan, a hairdresser who'd previously made Shirley an offer. This leads to the opening of his trendy new salon Just Gordon, the latest in his franchise of salons. Gordon is harbouring a big secret, which will eventually be exposed by one of his colleagues.
Salon manager Jack Paterson is a bit of a ladies' man and wastes no time in chatting up some of the locals including Eileen and Gina! The salon's other recruits are bubbly, feisty Hayley and larger-than-life Robbie. The fun pair become best pals instantly.
On a more serious note, it's a very worrying summer for the ladies of Shieldinch when a series of sex attacks take place in the area. The ladies show their community spirit by coming together to try to catch the attacker, and begin holding self defence classes.


New Characters
Our three new students promise to liven things up in Montego Street! Laid-back art history undergraduate Innes Maitland (played by Samuel Robertson), is of great interest to Amber. She instantly develops a huge crush on him and sets her heart on making the super cool student her boyfriend! Charlie Bowie (aka Ryan Smith) is Innes' flatmate. The law student takes a shine to Amber, despite the fact that she only has eyes for his best friend. Charlie’s younger sister Jennifer (aka Lorna Craig) is an English student who is determined to move out of her family home in Gourock and into the more vibrant, party-friendly environment of Innes and Charlie's flat!
