Liz and Malcolm have finally got together after a very romantic kiss!

Biography

Liz is Archie's mother. She can be a real nippy sweetie, especially to poor Gina, although even she tried to warn Gina off marrying her son. She's well used to Archie's controlling ways but she wasn't at all pleased when he decided to move Gina in. Liz liked her big posh house to herself, and Gina was NOT her ideal daughter-in-law, but they're getting closer every day. Liz wasn't fooled by Archie's attitude towards Gina but she didn't know that Archie was doing his best to confuse his mum - hiding things, giving her wrong information, and even drugging her! She even had a fall down the stairs - an accident but as a result of a tussle with her son - but she recovered well.

Niamh forged a friendship with Liz but Liz had no idea of her history with Archie. She was devastated by the position she was put in since Archie's arrest, and has fretted with Gina but underneath it all she doubted Archie's pleas of innocence.

She was right to doubt him. He decided to fake his suicide to escape trial and she stumbled across him trying to leave. When he tried to strangle Gina, she took swift action and hit him on the head. He was dead. She was horrified and Gina took control. With Eileen's help, they threw Archie's body over a cliff. Liz has been in a state ever since and even tried confessing to the police but they didn't believe her! She doesn't know that Archie showed signs of life AFTER being left for dead.

She got her mental strength back but has been knocked again since finding out Archie had mortgaged the house. She and Gina were left homeless and penniless... and have had to move in with Malcolm.

Since then, Douglas has appeared on the scene and trying to work out if she believes his story about not remembering his life as Archie has been tough on Liz. She's still not sure but he does appear to be much kinder than her son.
