Joanne is very happy in her relationship with Ewan Murdoch, blissfully unaware that he's flirting with Heather behind her back.

Biography

Jo is Gina's youngest daughter and the apple of her mother's eye; at least she used to be… Glamorous Joanne will do anything for attention, and she has definitely inherited her mother's love of performing for an audience. She always managed to wrap her mum around her little finger - a fact that's often wound up big sister, Ruth.

Jo became a mum herself, after giving birth to baby Franco. However, she was forced to do some growing up when the baby's father, Nazir Malik, made it clear that he wasn't sticking around to support her. Jo spent some time in prison when she was wrongly arrested for the murder of Dr Marcus Mackenzie, and her biggest worry was that she wouldn't see Franco again.

When Heather confessed to the crime, Jo forgave her, and schemed with McKenna and Heather to get Heather acquitted. She tried to use the publicity following the court case to do her best for Franco's future and completed a number of interviews just to get some money to buy a flat. However, sister Ruth decided this made Jo a bad mother and launched an attempt to get custody of Franco. The consequences of Ruth's actions were severe, with Gina ending up in a coma after Ruth attacked her.

Another casualty of the feud was Jo's relationship with Cormac. After all that had happened, Jo's feelings for him had changed, and she ended the relationship but was sorry to see him leave Shieldinch. Jo then had a long relationship with Billy, but she wasn't secure and had fits of jealousy over Billy's relationships with Della and Alice.

She's also been jealous of Marty & Ruth's love.

Despite believing Luca was her half-brother she embarked on affair with him and fell pregnant. When he left town she pretended the baby was Billy's but not even getting engaged to him made her happy. When Jo found out Luca wasn't really her brother, she backed Archie up when he was instrumental in Luca leaving town but she couldn't switch off her feelings and when Luca came back to town she couldn't resist. She had their baby, Romeo, and let Billy believe he was his until everything exploded as she prepared to run off with Luca. After a real struggle, Luca, Jo, Franco and Romeo left Shieldinch, leaving a trail of destruction in their wake.

Jo has just arrived back in Shieldinch.
