Biography

Eileen used to run the Grill restaurant at the Tall Ship but sold up following the death of her husband Tommy. She had two children, Kirsty and Brian, from her previous marriage to Raymond Henderson. Eileen and Tommy were living apart just before he died, as a result of her affair with old flame, Lewis Cope.

Eileen thought Hazel was overreacting when she said that Brian frightened her, but after Brian abducted and tried to kill Hazel, Eileen realised that she should have done something about it earlier. Eileen blamed herself for what happened, and was worried that she is a failure as a mother. However, when she realised that Hazel wanted to let the past go, Eileen also forgave herself. She decided that she needed to start a new life and handed over the keys to Roisin and Raymond.

She was seeing young student Callum for a while. Initially, she was unsure about dating a younger man, especially as it caused problems in her relationship with Malcolm. After seeming to get back on track, the cracks in the relationship started to show, and she had a fling with her boss, Archie Buchanan, unbeknownst to Callum, and despite Archie already being involved with Gina, Eileen's sister. Eileen did as much as she could to prevent Archie and Gina getting together. Gina eventually found out, and she and Eileen fell out for a while.

Eileen slept with Raymond whilst he was married to Roisin and felt she has a hold over him, although she was a sympathetic pair of ears when Raymond confided in her about what had happened to Alanna. She used Glenn to help her buy half of The Grill.

Her evil side became less prevalent since she tried to help Alanna and was beaten up by Alex, and when Roisin went to hospital she was a great support to both Raymond and Alanna. She was devastated by the death of her daughter Kirsty, blaming herself for being a bad mum. After the funeral, she spent the night with Raymond, also grieving for his daughter.

When Gina and Liz accidentally 'killed' Archie, Eileen found herself more and more involved. She helped Gina through him over a cliff, and has had to be strong to keep Gina and Liz from falling apart.
