Being Dad

It started well enough for Simon: he put the phone down on his bookie without placing a bet and in a few hours he would be going for a job interview, all part of his rehabilitation as a compulsive gambler.

His estranged partner Yvonne and his son Sean, both of whom he's not seen for 7 years, turn up unexpectedly. Apparently Sean needs a male influence and from now on will be living with his father. Not only is he going to live with Simon, Sean also owns the house that Simon has called home for the last thirty years.

Yvonne drives off into the sunset on holiday with her new lover Vanessa, leaving Simon to find out that his once angelic son is now a demonic teenager, even though he is only twelve.

All this before eleven o'clock, the interview is at three. Will he make it; what more can go wrong?
