Paul's first job was as a teacher but on the one school trip he organised he managed to get left behind. He then turned his hand to comedy where he became a producer of light entertainment at the BBC, producing award winning radio shows (Old Harry's Game and Delve Special) before settling as a script writer. His most well known writing credits include The Vicar of Dibley and My Hero. He has also been a script editor on Spitting Image and was comedy script consultant for Channel 4. He is currently a consultant to the Head of Comedy at the BBC.

Good Morning Miss Milton

Miss Milton - a junior school teacher - is impulsive and subversive and has a great deal more trouble with adult relationships than she does with children.

In this episode we meet Miss Milton's Harry Potter obsessed class - including 'thicko' Madonna who thinks France is near Egypt and Simon the mathematical genius.

After disciplining the youngsters with a very real bogeyman, and giving her own colleagues advice on multiplication, Miss Milton winds up in the store cupboard being seduced by Ben the hunky caretaker... that is until the headmaster walks in...
