There's been an accident on the A96 at Elgin on the Pansport Roundabout and it's causing long delays in both directions.
The M74 northbound is still closed just north of J15 and will be closed for about 4/5 hours yet, local diversions are in place. The southbound carriageway was closed momentarily but has reopened, so traffic is very heavy in the area.
Police are advising motorists that a number of roads throughout Dumfries and Galloway are currently affected by flooding and standing water from heavy rain. Drivers should only travel if necessary and allow extra time for journeys.

A701 Dumfries - Beattock Road at Lochthorn Garage, Locharbriggs
A701 Beattock - Edinburgh Road at Hidden Corner, Moffat
C1n Old Military road nearto Cargenbridge
Flooding has also been reported on the following roads
A709 Dumfries - Lockerbie road at Ryemuir Farm
A701 Dumfries - Beattock road down to one lane at Parkgate.
C12n Dumfries - Bankend Road in Bankend Road, Dumfries
C99a Moffat - Wamphray road nearto Oakrigg Sawmill, Moffat.
A74M Carlisle - Glasgow road nearto Wamphray northbound.
