By playing The Predictor, you are agreeing to the following terms and conditions.
Users are welcome to play just for fun and for bragging rights with their friends...should they top the league table, of course.
There are no prizes.
The Predictor adheres to the BBC's Code of Conduct for competitions and voting.
Points are awarded according to how accurately a person predicts the Clydesdale Bank Scottish Premier League scorelines. If a person correctly guesses the exact score they gain three points. If a person correctly guess the result (ie home win, draw or away win) but not the exact scoreline, they gain one point. If no prediction is entered for a match, no points can be won.
A user has five jokers available. Jokers double a user's points for a particular match. Therefore, if a user plays a joker for a match and they guess the exact score, that person will be awarded six points instead of three.
Similarly, playing a joker for a match in which the user guesses the right result, but not the exact scoreline, would mean that user gets two points instead of one.
Each week there will be the chance to guess the first scorer for a particular match. Three bonus points are awarded for correctly guessing the first scorer. The first scorer is the player identified by the Press Association feed. If the Press Association subsequently revises its decision on who scored the goal we are unable to revise the points that have already been awarded.
The "winner" (though there is no prize) will be the eligible person who scores the highest number of points over the season 2008/09 as a result of predicting the correct results or scorelines in the listed fixtures. In the event of a tie, users will be separated by correct number of scorelines predicted. If a tie break still exists, users will be separated by the time of their predictions. Users who make predictions earlier will be given the advantage.
When you sign up to play The Predictor, your points total starts at zero.
Users can enter predictions for any listed game, seven days in advance, up until the time of kick-off. Kick-off time is determined as the published kick-off time for the match. The BBC is not responsible if a match kicks off late, or early. Kick-off time will be determined by synchronised BBC server time, and is not necessarily the exact kick-off time at the matches being played. The Predictor cannot display matches any earlier than seven days in advance.
The producers of The Predictor do not have direct access to the database of usernames or passwords. The BBC cannot input your scores if you are experiencing problems accessing the website.
Due to the ongoing nature of The Predictor, the BBC cannot re-award points for matches when an error has occurred in the game code. All errors will be modified and repaired when they are highlighted, but cannot be rolled back to incorporate lost points. The BBC will attempt to take all steps to ensure this does not happen.
Only one entry will be accepted per person. Users who are discovered to have made multiple entries to The Predictor will be disqualified.
If you have used a screen name deemed inappropriate or offensive, then it will not be viewable in the game. Adopting an inappropriate username (eg. one that is deemed offensive) or impersonating another individual is unacceptable. Failure to change such a username will result in the username being taken off any public high scores tables.
By registering for this game you agree to the BBC publishing your name or username alias in the high score table(s).

The BBC, its sub-contractors, subsidiaries and/or agencies cannot accept any responsibility whatsoever for any technical failure or malfunction or any other problem with any system, server, provider or otherwise which may result in any Predictor entries or email being lost or not properly registered or recorded.
