Blantyre Skatepark:
The new skatpark opened in Blantyre at the weekend
and it's a beauty. There are bowls, hips, a spine, a midi ramp,
rails and loads more. There's also big stuff as well as more mellow
things, so it's nice for all ability levels.
I'm told that there have been loads of problems
with the local neds, so if you're going, try to go early in the
morning or at any other time when they're more likely to be bugging
someone else. This has happened before elsewhere and they
generally get bored of it, but we've heard a rumour
that the council are even considering filling in the park because
they're being that much of a nuisance. Damn neds!
Getting there:
To get to the park by train, start in Glasgow and get on one of
the lower level trains (from Central Station, for example) and pay
something like £2.50. The journey takes about 20 mins. Once
you come out of the station, turn left and follow the road until
you come
to a T-junction, turn left. The park is behind the
sports centre, which is opposite Asda - you can't miss it.
Enjoy.
