ALFORD

Dirt:
There's a rad set of trails at Alford - possibly the best trails within a 100 mile radius: 5 ft take offs, decent sized gaps, a small 10 pack and two other lines.

Park:

The Alford skatepark is now open. It was designed by the locals and is apparently as near to a proper pool as you're going to get in Scotland (are there actually any proper outdoor pools in Scotland?). It's pretty tight and features a spine, a teardrop and even an over vert section on the vert extension. It varies in depth between five and six feet and apparently the locals are already working on raising money for phase two, which will probably be a load of new school stuff (boxes/rails etc), but no-one knows yet.

The park is situated next to the dry ski slope.

Street:

Street out in Alford is well-good and there's plenty of stuff to ride - ya just gotta find it!
- Lots of nice ledges of various heights at the school, which are good for learning grinds.
- For something a bit bigger, head to the coal place for the nice, big, long granite ledge there.
- The railway is packed with stuff to ride, including a ledge, some stones that you can wallride, a bank with some tracks at the top that you can stall. You can also gap the tracks and there's the big-ass wallride that Labrat stalled the top of [AIRTIGHT NOTE: Don't go messing around on working railways, or you'll die]
- There' s lots of stuff at the Waterboard: gaps, wallrides and a cool, square rail that's so much fun.
- The Haughton has a treeride and a few gaps.
- The gas place is covered in gaps and ledges and stuff.
