About Us

BBC Scotland has a long, proud history of producing excellent television, radio and online content. As well as providing programming for Scotland, we also produce quality network programming.

Formerly based at Queen Margaret Drive, our headquarters are now located at our new, purpose-built home at Pacific Quay, Glasgow.

Outside of Glasgow, BBC Scotland has production bases in Edinburgh, Aberdeen, Inverness, Dundee and also smaller regional news bases across Scotland.

About Glasgow

Glasgow is undoubtedly one of Europe’s most vibrant and cosmopolitan cities, yet is also on the doorstep of Scotland’s glorious countryside, by rail, plane or car.

The city itself is steeped in culture and rich in history, but it also has a buzz and excitement of its own. A vibrant night-life and a myriad of restaurants, cafes, pubs and clubs offer something for everyone.

Glasgow also has a superb range of accommodation to suit all tastes form the small trendy boutique hotel to the large global chain, there is no shortage of choice of comfortable places to stay while you work.

BBC Pacific Quay

The 34,000sqm Pacific Quay building is five storeys high and home to over a thousand staff. It was purpose built not only to meet needs of broadcasters but also of the public. The ground level foyer is open to the public and includes a cafe, viewing and listening stations, public wi-fi access and exhibitions spaces.

As one of the most sophisticated digital production centres in Europe, it will be the only BBC building fully equipped to take maximum advantage of digital switchover, as it starts in Scotland in 2008.
