ZERO 7 FORCED TO CANCEL

North London duo Zero 7 have been forced to pull out of their Sunday slot at
the Pet Sound Arena. DF Concerts said "Zero 7 have cancelled today
due to travel issues. All other bands in the Pet Sounds Arena will perform
slightly earlier than published times and play slightly longer sets."

FESTIVAL'S SAFE SEX MESSAGE

Health workers will be handing out condoms at this weekend's T in the Park
music festival as part of a move to promote a safer sex message. An NHS
Tayside mobile clinic at the Kinross venue will also be distributing sunscreen
to help festival-goers to protect themselves. Meanwhile Tayside Police
warned that it would be taking a zero-tolerance stance on people caught
with illegal drugs. The NHS Tayside clinic will be manned by volunteer
health workers who have been regulars at the festival for several years.

COLIN MURRAY'S ROAD TO RECOVERY

The nation can breathe a sigh of relief as reports of Colin Murray's broken toe
become increasingly encouraging. The injury, on a par of importance with
that to Wayne Rooney's metatarsal, may have seen Colin limping slightly
during the BBC's weekend coverage of T in the Park. However, colleague
Edith Bowman told the Sunday Herald there was no reason to panic - "He's
got a bandage round his toes with a bit of lolly stick in between. He's
such a hypochondriac."

BEAT GOES ON AT T

This weekend's festival will act as one of the major staging points for a protest
against current trade laws. Christian Aid is hoping to set a new world
record for the number of drummers playing simultaneously round the country
to back the campaign.
The development agency claimed that IMF and World Bank rules were forcing
poor countries to compete against rich ones.
People attending the Kinross music festival have urged to take part.

GOLDFRAPP PULL OUT OF ROSKILDE

Goldfrapp were forced to pull their performance at Denmark's Roskilde festival
last weekend after singer Alison fell ill. A statement on the band's website
apologised for the unforeseen cancellation, explaining that "despite
attention from the doctor it was decided after much discussion that she
could not perform."
Reports so far indicate that the band's performance at T in the Park should
remain unaffected. .

PHARRELL WARMS UP AT WIMBLEDON

Pharrell Williams has been familiarising himself with another great British event
of the summer - Wimbledon. Despite being no tennis expert ("the concept
of love and deuce is a new introduction to me" he insists) the superstar
producer and musician is looking for inspiration for his new fashion label.
Pharrell is set to bring his impeccable style to the Radio1/NME stage
on Saturday.

CRACKDOWN ON TICKET TOUTS

T in the Park officials have announced their latest move in the fight to stop
ticket touts ripping off music fans. DF Concerts and Ticketmaster are
to track down and cancel tickets which have been sold on the internet,
checking auction sites and noting the serial numbers of those on offer.
T organiser Geoff Ellis defended the move, saying "we felt we had
to fight against these online touts," the Courier reports.

STROKES ROCKING THE DINOSAURS

The Strokes are to play a special gig at the National History Museum in London.
A small audience of fans, as well as some ancient exhibits, will be treated
to the one-off event on 6th July - admittance is strictly invite-only.

REPORTS OF MISSING TICKETS

Royal Mail managers are urgently investigating the alleged disappearance of T
in the Park tickets. Their inquiry follows a complaint that a pair of
tickets for the music festival was not delivered to a customer in Bathgate,
West Lothian. A spokesman said the security of mail was of "paramount
importance".
In May, postal workers suspected of stealing tickets for Radio 1's Big
Weekend concert in Dundee were suspended and later resigned

CHILIS ESCAPE LEGAL ACTION

The Red Hot Chili Peppers can rest easy before next week's performance at T, having
learned that they will not face legal action over claims of alleged plagiarism.
Reports last month had indicated that Tom Petty was considering suing
the band after noticing similarities between his track 'Mary Jane's Last
Dance' and the Chilis' new single 'Dani California', gigwise.com reports.
However, Petty has since changed his mind, telling Rolling Stone that
"I think there are enough frivolous lawsuits (in the US)
without
people fighting over pop songs."

T BILL UPDATED

Paulo Nutini, Sandi Thom and Duels are among the acts to have been added to
the T line-up. Their addition to the festival bill brings the number of
acts heading to Balado to over 140. Nutini is due to headline the T-Break
Stage on Sunday, while Thom is to appear on the Main Stage on the same

KOOKS TO FULFIL 'SCHOOLBOY' DREAMS

The Kooks have been asked to support the Rolling Stones. Singer Luke Pritchard
described the invitation as "schoolboy stuff" and told NME.com
that the Stones are "the coolest band to walk the earth." The
Kooks recently courted controversy by arguing the current music scene,

BASSIST QUITS ARCTIC MONKEYS

Just three weeks before Arctic Monkeys are due to play T in the Park's main stage,
bassist Andy Nicholson has parted company with the band. Following a year
of phenomenal success for the Monkeys, Nicholson had previously pulled
out of their American tour in May, citing "fatigue following an intensive
period of touring."
He is to be replaced by Nick O' Malley for the rest of the band's summer
dates.

RICHARD ASHCROFT ARRESTED

Richard Ashcroft, who is due to headline Sunday's Radio1/NME Stage, fell foul
of the law last week after a bizarre incident at a Wiltshire youthclub.
The singer was arrested after demanding to work with a group of teenagers,
reportedly claiming he wanted to do 'good things'. Ashcroft was subsequently
issued with a fixed penalty of £80 and then released - his appearance
at T in the Park should not be affected.

RADIO 1 CRASHES THE T PARTY

Scotland's biggest and best music festival has attracted a larger rabble of Radio
1 DJs than ever before. After the success of One Big Weekend in Dundee
Edith travels north once again, kicking things off with a pre-T show from
Balado on Friday 7th July. Vernon Kay and Annie Mac will be live from
the site throughout the weekend - they might even have time to catch fellow
DJ Rob da Bank as he entertains the crowd in the Slam Tent. Listeners
in Scotland can also catch the day's highlights with Vic Galloway. Steve
Lamacq will round things off with a special 'best of T' show on 10th July.
