What about the Lost Soul Band - classic??

I know you’re on the L’s but I’ve only just checked the site and you’re missed one of the greatest Es. The best cult bands in Glasgow from the mid to late 1980’s – Edith and the Ladies. Originating in Lanarkshire the 3/5 piece band used Edith (backing tape recorder) to help play such great songs as Why Do I Sing Like This When I Come From Maryhill?, Old Firm, Do Ye Ever Get Sick of the Griffin. I Want More among others. Willie Sinnot went on to join the Shamen as Will Sin but tragically drowned just after shooting video for Move Any Mountain. Max the singer is now singing with one of his favourite bands, The Alex Harvey Band. The Ladies music was influential and inspired Hugh Read and the Velvet Underpants who had an extensive video collection of the Ladies which he watched to create his own versions of Ladies songs like Join the Police.I add this as I was the drummer in the band – I keep in touch with Max but still miss Willie a lot.
