The Artists

Nelson Goerner

Nelson Goerner

The name Nelson Goerner is already firmly established as one of the most remarkable pianists of his generation. Born in 1969 in San Pedro in the province of Buenos Aires, Argentina, he revealed his exceptional gifts very early on by teaching himself to read and write before the age of three.

Stefan Solyom

Stefan Solyom

Stefan Solyom has rapidly acquired an international reputation to complement his firmly established status in the musical life of his native Sweden. His appearances in the opera house and on the concert platform have drawn praise for their lyrical warmth and strong conviction, and the immediacy of his rapport and engagement with orchestral players has delighted critics, audiences and musicians alike. Stefan Solyom is currently Associate Guest Conductor of the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra and from the start of the 2009/2010 season, Principal Guest Conductor of the Norrköping Symphony Orchestra.

Stephen Johnson

Stephen Johnson

Stephen Johnson studied at the Royal Northern College of Music, Manchester, and under Alexander Goehr at Leeds University. He has broadcast frequently for BBC Radio 3, 4 and World Service, major projects including 14 programmes about the music of Bruckner for the centenary of the composer's death (1996), and has written regularly for The Independent, The Guardian, BBC Music Magazine and Gramophone.
