Pay Per View - Gone?

I took this photo a number of months ago and the reason I'm posting it is that the telescope appears to have disappeared now. Does anyone know whether this was vandalism or did the council or the owners take it away? If they did I'd like to know why as it's the little things like this that make islands like Bute what they are.
