S1 Beaches - Ruth

Chris from Tiree asked this question “what is the biggest beach on Tiree ? ” To answer his question, Gott Bay is the biggest beach.

Gott Bay is usually the busiest beach and is the busiest in the summer time with wind surfing, kite surfing and sand yachting and last but not least swimming. The Loch isn’t a beach it still gets rather busy too. Over in Caolas there is sort of a cave there but it’s not really. It’s just a big rock pool with a roof, it’s got small fish, crabs and sea urchins in it.

Hi Ruth,

It's great to read your blog and those of your other classmates. We're not far away, just across on Mull, but Tiree is very different from Mull in so many ways yet so similar in others.

My wife and I have four children: one at secondary, one just finishing primary, and two more who are pre-school.

It's great to hear about how things go on on the other islands.

A friend of mine moved to Tiree at Christmas so if you know an in-comer called Mark say hello to him from us.

Cheers
Gary
