Chris from Tiree asked this question “what is the biggest beach on Tiree ? ” To answer his question, Gott Bay is the biggest beach.
Gott Bay is usually the busiest beach and is the busiest in the summer time with wind surfing, kite surfing and sand yachting and last but not least swimming. The Loch isn’t a beach it still gets rather busy too. Over in Caolas there is sort of a cave there but it’s not really. It’s just a big rock pool with a roof, it’s got small fish, crabs and sea urchins in it.

I live on the Isle of Tiree. It is a small island but it has a lot to do on it. It has loads of beaches and things to do, on and off the beaches.
There are windsurfing lessons and you can go sand-yachting. You can go swimming as well on the beaches.
We get lots of visitors in the holidays because of all the lovely beaches and the lovely scenery.

Islands have a lot of country side, and usually a few farms spread out. There’s machair, grassland, lochs, and heather.
There are lots of different sizes of island, some small, and some big, e.g. Mull’s big, and Iona’s small.
People quite often fish around the coast for crabs, fish, lobsters etc, in boats.
Islands sometimes have old ruins and brochs that people can visit, and take pictures of. The beaches are long white and sandy, and you can swim in the sea.

Tirees' beaches are nice for long walks .Tiree had a couple of nice days last week and most people were out gardening or at the beach and enjoying themselves. It is nice when it is sunny because the sky is clear blue. I don’t like it when there is no light breeze because it is to hot it is lovely with a light breeze. When it is windy it is cold.

There’re quite a few beaches around Tiree. There’s Corning, Colas, Gott bay, Balephetrish and many more.
The beaches on Tiree are fun to go for walks on. In the summer time the beaches are beautiful. You can go in swimming with the so clear.
You can go horse ridding in Colas, you can go sand yachting, wind surfing and kite surfing on Gott bay.
There are lots of other things you can do too.

Shops on Tiree
There are two super-markets on Tiree they are called CO OP and Macloeds. There are three other shops, The Craft Center the Pottery and Skinners super store. Skinners super store sells nearly every-thing from sweets to paint. The Pottery makes and paints there own pots. The Craft Center sells woolen jumpers, balls of wool, jewelry, sowing material and fabric. The CO OP sells food, toys, alcohol and cigarettes like any other super-market. Macloeds is similar but it sells more sweets and it isn’t as big.

Beaches around Tiree
There are lots of different beaches in Tiree. There is a wave classic every year. Over the last two years there have been lots of different activities on the island. This year we had a blow up whale, a bouncy castle, a bucking bronco, sand yachts, blow carts and helicopter rides. The most popular beaches for windsurfing are Gott Bay, The Maze and Balevuillen. Most people enjoy it, is almost the most popular time of summer, when it is hot and got a bit of wind. Most people like kite-surfing because they can do lots of tricks whilst they are in the air.Balevuillen has big waves so you can go boogie-boarding. In Coalas you can go horse riding and you sometimes get to go down to the beach. We like this time of year because we can meet lots of different people that come from other places in Scotland.
