David Low of Angus. Family legend has it that my grandfather was the illegitimate child of a certain Scottish duke (maybe best not to name names as this can't be proved!). He was raised by my great-gran's parents. We had a very forgiving family for the time, though, and they didn't disown her or anything, though I imagine they must have given her a bit of a row! I suppose it's possible that she made the story up, but I think she did work as a maid at a big estate.
