I do not have a lot of memories of WW2 as i was born in 1942. I do however remember being gathered up by Mother and put into the bomb shelter. The smell still lingers in my memory bank.

Fit Like? I emigrated from Aberdeen in 1952 and can remember after the war when my mother was pushing me down the street, the air raid siren went on to clear the street to get at a UXB. My Grandfather was a Sgt. with the Aberdeen City Police and his area was the docks. During a raid he dove into a pile of coal during the black out and when he returned to Lodge Walk all his mates had a right laugh as he looked like a black man.

And, "Fit Like Yersel'?"...I was browsing thru Forum on Scottish History & came across your message posted on 29 Oct 04 there, & thought I'd send a quick e-mail...if nothing else than to let you know that it's been seen! I hail from the town of Inverurie in Aberdeenshire and, although I was born in 1949, I still have a mother living (81yrs old now) who hailed from Peterhead. Two years ago, I started investigating into our Family Trees on maternal & paternal sides and what an interesting and informative months I had, culminating in a completed maternal family back to 1827! I still have to complete my paternal side yet but unfortunately, all those who could have given me guidance in direction, are now deceased so it's more of a case of hard-graft delving!! Do you still have contacts with family still in this area? Anyway, your posting has been read by at least one person here...did you get any more?
Best Regards
Maureen Bruce
