Noreen is visibly distraught after watching Donna's final walk up Moncreiff Hill. She now has no doubt that Donna's been telling the truth all along and she feels guilty for suggesting that she was ill or faking it. Noreen clearly understands the important mission that Donna has embarked on. There's a sense that Noreen will play a part in protecting our future and cleansing our past.

So strange. I thought it would be hard but my decision to go seems to have brought me peace for the first time in a long while. It's time now. Maybe one day, like the salmon, I'll return.
