Population growthPopulation growth – The rate of population growth in developing countries is considerably higher than in developed countries. The UK has a population of 59 million people. Due to its low population growth it will take around 433 years for the UK to double its population. Ghana has a population of around 18 million. It will take around 24 years for Ghana to double its population.2 Extra mouths to feed put a terrible burden on poor countries. Governments struggle to provide jobs; education and medical care for rapidly increasing populations.
