Volcanoes - Action
Action Exercise
When living near an environmental hazard it is important to be aware of the dangers it poses. Many organisations provide information to the public warning them of hazards and how to prepare for them. The Government of Montserrat and the MVO had issued information of the dangers posed by the volcano. This information was regularly broadcast to the public but some people were still unprepared when faced with an eruption.

Some of the expected hazards in a volcanic eruption in Montserrat are pyroclastic flows, pyroclastic surges, gases and ash and mud flows. Write an action plan to advise someone what actions to take if caught in a volcanic eruption.
