100km long, landlocked sea
The Volga River discharges into the Caspian Sea, carrying pollution from the Russian Federation. The Caspian Sea is also the focus of international attention because of its huge oil and natural gas reserves. The main problem is the status of the Sea and the establishment of water boundaries between the five countries.
