Ask a Teacher - Geography - Physical - A Question from

Student Name
Question How is it easy to see what are physical and man made features of a river? What are the dangers of a river?
Answer

Physical features are those that have been created by nature eg. waterfall, gorge. Man made features would be things like roads, bridges, houses, dams......

The main danger of a river is flooding. For most of the time a river will not cover the whole of its river bed. Only in time of flood will water cover this area and in some cases burst the banks and pour over the surrounding land - e.g. floodplain.
