Ask a Teacher - Chemistry - Formulae and Equations - A Question from Ashley

Student Name Ashley
Question I understand balancing equations pretty well but sometimes my anwser comes up with eg 6 1/2 carbon molecules. Is this ok or have I done something wrong?
Answer It’s perfectly ok to use ½ - it means ½ a mole not ½ an atom or molecule.
(By the way carbon does not exist as molecules – it should be atoms)
