How do you use ionic formula and in what context will it appear?
Answer
Ionic formulae are needed when identifying spectator ions. They
are also useful when explaining whatÂ’s happening in displacement
reactions and looking at reduction and oxidation.
Ionic charges
can be worked out as follows:
Metal ions are
positive and the number of charges is the same as the valency.
Non-metal ions are negative and the number of charges is the same
as the valency.
