How is it designed?

This area is designed to complement existing television programmes and on-line sites that support the teaching of 5-14 technology education. Therefore teachers who use What? When? Where? Why? and Around Scotland will see the relevance of its content. The content of the shared area will build as other programmes and on-line output is released and as other complementary information is required. There are specific teacher's notes and forward plans tailored to the activities of both Around Scotland at levels C and D and What? Where? When? Why? at levels A and B on each of the respective sites for Technology - Things we wear .

Areas covered in the upper stages Around Scotland - Technology site:

  • Which fabric? What colour?
  • How we make clothes
  • Make your own

Areas covered in the lower stages What? Where? When? Why? -Technology site:

  • What do we wear ? - matching clothes to weather conditions and Design your own t -shirt.
  • Where does it come from ? - where materials come from.
