Queen Elizabeth I of England Queen Elizabeth I of England
Elizabeth I was the Queen of England during most of Mary, Queen of Scots' reign in Scotland. Mary was related to the English Royal family, so she had a claim to their throne. Mary believed she was the rightful Queen of England because when Elizabeth was born, her father and mother were not married under the eyes of the Roman Catholic church. In the end Elizabeth didn't have any children, so Mary's son James became the first king to rule both Scotland and England.
