J.M. Barrie - Auld Licht Idylls
This book is the best known of the early 'Thrums' stories, where J.M. Barrie would weave tales of an often idyllic rural Scotland. There’s romance and there’s escapism from the harsh realities of the Scottish industrial landscape in which most people survived at the time, but this is the major ingredient of the these novels’ charms.
