Alexander Trocchi – Young Adam
Almost as famous for his heroin addiction as for his literature, Trocchi encompasses French existentialism and American ‘Beat’ literature in his fictional output. Young Adam poses those huge moral conundrums that Albert Camu and his circle were so fond of: where is man’s place in a universe suddenly devoid of God and meaning, and who’s responsible if it isn’t God?
