How to make a leaf garland
By Andrea Williamson, from Folk Art meets Fair Isle .
Using your hand drawn template (don’t worry about it too much, just make it look roughly like the example shown) cut out at least 35 leaf shapes.
Fold a length of florist wire in half and twist to make a loop for hanging your garland from. Tuck the leaves in (a max of 4 at a time) and twist above them to secure.
Twist again about 2cm above the leaves.
Add in a button and twist to close.
Take the next piece of wire, fold in half and twist all 4 pieces together to make a strong join.
Repeat step 3 – 7 depending on desired length. You could make short lengths of wire garlands to put in vases, or longer lengths to hang. Have fun!
