Very little survives from the early archives
of the 1920s. The following clips demonstrate some of the earliest programming,
but there were also outside broadcasts, religious and gaelic broadcasts,
the first greek tragedy and experimental schools broadcasts. Labour Prime
Minister Ramsay MacDonald spoke from our first station, 5SC, in 1924,
the first royal broadcast happened in 1926 and Gracie Fields performed
at 5SC in 1928!
Children's Hour

Howard M Lockhart

The Beginning of Television

Sport
