The White Heather Club took up the baton from Draw in Your Chair and ran from 1958 to 1968. Andy Stewart presented and sang in the Scottish country dance music show, which, at its peak, drew in an audience of 10 million people and turned Stewart into an international star. This very Scottish image, awash with kilts and fiddles, is one which the rest of the network took to be a true representation of Scotland!

First televised on 7 May 1958, Robert Wilson was supposed to present the first ever edition of The White Heather Club but the telerecording was faulty and Andy Stewart had to step in as presenter.
