Q:I'm so sweaty

I sweat so much, even on a normal day I get sweat patches. I went to an under-18 club and I came out soaking. How can I stop this?
Kaylah , 15

A: Dear Kaylah

Under-18 clubs are officially The Sweatiest Place on the Planet. Even the most boring, non-dancing, hog-the-air-con clubber can't survive without pit patches.

But sweat is a menace. No one wants the dilemma: "How do I ask a question in class/put my arm round someone/reach for a drink without the damp bit showingå?"

Here's your checklist for stress-free sweating:

1) Clothes. Choose things made from cotton and change often.

2) Washing. Once a day, with soap is enough to be niff-free.

3) Deodorant. Choose an anti-perspirant deodorant and replenish in every bog break.

4) Arm pit shields. They do exist. Doing for our pits what sports socks do for our feet.

5) The Big Guns. Industrial strength anti-perspirant is available from the chemist. Ask for one containing Aluminium Chloride but always read the instructions – this is strong stuff.

6) Patience. We sweat more in our teens than ever before, or after. You'll dry up soon just hang in there.

7) Fluid. Drink plenty of water to keep well hydrated. Sweat is there to cool us down. Clearly, you must be deeply cool.
