Injection moulding is the most common
process for mass producing plastic
components. Most of the robot's plastic parts,
are made in this way.

To injection mould a product, solid plastic granules are poured
into the hopper of an injection moulding machine. The granules are heated
so that they become soft and fuse together. A screw mechanism then forces
the soft plastic into a mould, where the plastic cools and hardens.
