Objectives
NLS Ref: Year 1 Term

Text level: reading comprehension
1. To reinforce and apply word level skills through shared and guided reading

Sentence level: : grammar and punctuation
3 . To read texts aloud with pace and expression - pausing at full stops

Word level work:
1. Recognising the final phonemes ll,ss,ff
2. To read on sight high frequency words

Shared text
'Jeff and the small fish' - an Aesop fable retold by Sarah Ratcliffe, illustrated by Christopher Gunson.

Preparation
Print out, enlarge, and make up a 'poster' of the shared text Jeff and the small fish (part 1 and part 2).

Print out (and duplicate) the activity sheet sheet 2a and any other resources you plan to use from the Print and Do page.
