Belfast - Cars

Belfast is very easy to walk around because it is a small city. However, many people prefer to drive or take a taxi. People drive on the left hand side.

There are also Park and Ride facilities in certain areas of the city, where people can park their car and travel into the city on a bus.

Mexico City - Cars

In Mexico City people drive on the right hand side. There is very heavy traffic in the city and this has led to a big pollution problem. The pollution doesn't disperse easily because the city is surrounded by mountains and volcanoes and is at high altitude.

The city is trying to overcome its traffic problems. It has introduced a grid of wide main roads. This is call the Eje system and is meant to make the traffic flow more easily.

The Hoy No Circula (Don't Drive Today) programme has also been introduced to try to ease the pollution problem. This means that people have to leave their cars at home on one day in the week. It depends on the registration number of their car as to which day they have to do this.

The city is also introducing more public transport such as more trolley buses.
